DIRECTOR'S NOTES
notes from the projection booth
The world feels agonizingly heavy right now. Every day there are new images, new headlines, new griefs unfolding in places many of us may never see in person, but that does not make the suffering any less real. Sometimes it feels overwhelming to witness so much pain at once, and even harder to know what to do with that knowledge. But I still believe that small acts of attention matter. Caring matters. Refusing to look away matters. Even the quietest gestures—learning, speaking, choosing more consciously—are ways of reminding ourselves that our humanity is still shared. As James Baldwin, American writer and civil rights activist, once wrote, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”Let us face it all together. Here is a compilation of helpful links with information and resources on ways people can help several nations currently facing violence and crisis. I will continue updating this as I come across more verified sources, news updates, and organized relief efforts.
